The method · Race Preparation

Smile through a marathon.
Feel good the next day.

We challenge ourselves with hard races and find joy in doing what others find spectacular. Build, peak, taper, recovery — then return to the life.

First

Before you plan your block, consider the conditions you train in.

A marathon is two questions: what shape is the ground, and what season will you train through? Each is a pair of opposites — and your race is one of each.

Your race is one of each: a flat course through a hot summer, a hilly one through a cold winter, or any pairing between. Whatever your combination, the method has a real answer for it.

Then

Whatever your conditions, this is how the season is structured.
