The week of the date
The day is the session.
This is not a rung on a season ladder. It is the week that holds the date you trained toward. Until taper attached, you were still in Training.
The window
A date owns this week. Nothing else does.
Training is the default life. When a race is on the calendar — or a half or marathon you have committed to — this week belongs to that date. The day is the session. There is no long run beside it. There is no quality session to squeeze in. Freshness is the training now.
The app names the week for what the date is. A race is Race week. A half or marathon you have committed to is Event week. The body does the same thing either way.
The date decides the name. The week is the same: show up fresh.
The last days
Prime. Then rest.
Short easy runs with strides keep the legs awake. A shakeout the day before — short, easy, a few strides, done. Familiar food, low fiber, nothing new on the morning itself.
The day
Arrive early. Start conservative.
Arrive with time to spare. Warm up: a short easy jog and a few strides. Get to the start early.
Start conservative. The first few kilometres should feel easy — genuinely easy, slower than goal pace feels. The marathon rewards patience. The body has everything it needs. Let it unfold.
Trust the training. The fitness is there. Taper let the body express it. Show up and run.
After
Then Recovery. Then Training continues.
When the date is done, Recovery starts. Not a new season. Not a return to a Base or Build block — those blocks do not exist. The three pillars flush, rebuild, and hand you back to daily practice.
The takeaway
The week of the date is a window, not a phase you earn. Race week or Event week — the day is the session. Then Recovery. Then the life continues.
